Scholarship Details

Students should apply with certificates to avail the following scholarships and fee concessions. 75% of the attendance is compulsory.
Scholarship For Sc/St

State scholarship :
Students who belong to Tamilnadu can avail the state scholarship for 9 months with the recommendation of the principal. Family income should be Rs.12,000/- per annum.
Converted Christian Adi Dravidar students whose parents income is below Rs.50,000/ can avail the scholarship.

MBC scholarships
MBC students to avail concession on books and hostel fees. Their parents income should not exceed Rs.50,000/- per annum.

BC scholarships
BC students whose parents income is below Rs.1,00,000/- and who is the first graduate in their family can avail free education. (they are exempted from special fees, tuition fees and examination fees.)
Students whose parents’ income is below Rs.1,00,000/- can avail BC scholarship.

Few other scholarships are:
Scholarship for physically handicapped.
Scholarship for Indians from Srilanka
Scholarship for Indians send from Burma
Scholarship for students who are children of Ex servicemen
Fee concession for students of government servants who expired during the service

Waiver Of Tution Fess Upto Ug Level
Vide G.O. No: 389 Higher Education (G1) Department dt. 04.12.2007 the State Government has ordered for wavier of tuition Fees upto under graduate level for students studying in Govt. / Govt. Aided Arts and Science colleges with effect from the academic year 2007-08

Waiver Of Tuition Fess Upto PG Level
The Government has waived the tuition fees for the students studying in P.G courses in Government Colleges from the academic year 2010-2011; vide G.O (Ms) No.180 Higher Education (G1) Department Dated 02.07.2010.

Ph.D. Scholarship
The Ph.D. Scholars who wish to avail the Scholarship Scheme must have the following eligibilities:.

The Students must be full time Ph.D. research scholar either First year, Second year or Third year in anyone of the Government or Govt. Aided Arts & Science Colleges. (The scholar with M.Phil. qualification must be a student of I or II year of Ph. D. Course).
They must have secured 60% marks in P.G. Degree.
They should not be in receipt of any other Scholarship.
Part time Ph.D. Research Scholars are not eligible.
An amount of Rs.3000/- per month will be given to 60 research scholars who are selected under this scheme. Selection is made on merit basis.

Incentive for Tamil Medium students:
The students who opt for Tamil medium education in graduate studies will be appreciated with a cash incentive of Rs.200/- per semester for two semesters.

The Government was sanctioning Rs.180/- per year to each student who studied in Tamil Medium classes in Government and Government Aided Colleges from the academic year 1971-72. This stipend is granted to all the students who study in Tamil Medium classes irrespective of community and parental income. The Government has raised the amount of Rs.180/- to Rs.400/- as stipend to each student studying in Tamil Medium classes in order to encourage the students studying in Tamil Medium classes and also to attract them more to join in Tamil Medium Classes.
